Cultivated Mushrooms of Montello, Ancient Peaches of Mogliano Veneto

Plant products in their natural or processed state

Description

The cultivated mushrooms of Montello and the ancient peaches of Mogliano Veneto represent two emblematic expressions of Treviso agriculture, linked to biodiversity and seasonality. The former are fruits of a specialized production developed in the Montello hills, where the humid microclimate favors the growth of Pleurotus, pioppini and champignon mushrooms in controlled and sustainable environments. Versatile in the kitchen, fresh and fragrant, they are a nutritious alternative to meat. Antique peaches, on the other hand, are historic cultivars grown in the orchards of Mogliano Veneto: small, sweet and juicy fruits that bear witness to a time when fruit growing was an integral part of the rural economy. Today they are being rediscovered thanks to recovery projects that save these varieties from the risk of extinction. Both products tell a story of a return to the land, of authentic flavors and local supply chains that respect nature and tradition.
