ACCADEMIA SPIEDO d’Alta Marca

The Accademia dello Spiedo, a member of the Italian Federation of Enogastronomic Circles(F.I.C.E.), is concerned with the enhancement of the Spiedo and the study of the various aspects of this typical dish, in order to promote and preserve the quality of its various ingredients, while promoting the dissemination of good practices.
All this through Courses, publications, conferences, seminars and gastronomic symposia.

In 2006, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Giant Spit, pandering to the inspiration of some experts and connoisseurs of food and wine traditions, the Municipality of Pieve di Soligo, the Consortium of Pro Loco, together with other local authorities, entered into a memorandum of understanding. The goal was the creation of an Association dedicated to the enhancement and dissemination of the spit tradition. Thus the Accademia dello Spiedo d’Alta Marca took shape, with the aim of deepening, promoting and spreading the culture of the spit, transforming it into one of the main attractions of the entire Alta Marca territory.

The Accademia dello Spiedo di Alta Marca, was formally established on May 28, 2009 by: Pieve di Soligo Municipality, Slow Food Alta Marca Trevigiana, Consorzio Pro loco Quartier del Piave and Treviso Chamber of Commerce.
