PROSECCO FATO 1734 by Borghi Francesco

Description

The farm was established on the initiative of owner Francesco Borghi, who has always been passionate about places filled with history and scenic value.

After several years of searching, finally on December 15, 1993, the first part of his dream property was acquired: history, landscape, culture and agriculture.

Authentic adventure as the site had been abandoned for more than 30 years and so assaulted by vegetation that it was almost inaccessible.

Of the vineyards photographed by the first aerial flight that mapped all of Italy in 1954, there was no longer a trace. Of the dominant farmhouse, Borgo Schiavin, then intact, only the ruins remained.

But the poetry and strength that this inspired was such that it overcame any obstacle.

So much so that the adventure led me to discover bit by bit, ancient walls, old paths, inaccessible little valleys, endless peaks, cool springs and wonderful old boundary stones. The cleanup work took five years, all by hand. A long, hard tour but full of excitement. The resulting realization was that it was an even more fascinating place.
