PROSECCO TOFFOLI VINCENZO

Description

“Wine-as Papa Vincenzo used to say-is made in the vineyard,” and it is here that a journey begins each year, which, with a lot of work and passion, will lead to enclosing in the bottle the best that nature can offer us.

Vincenzo, of peasant origins, approached the world of viticulture at a young age. In addition to farming he lends his labor grafting rooted cuttings, and with great enthusiasm even then he begins to be passionate about rootstocks and clones. After his marriage in the 1950s, due to the economic crisis, he was forced to emigrate to Britain for 12 years, where he worked as a horticulturist and gardener. When he returned to Italy, he bought a small 5-hectare farm in Refrontolo, his wife Maria’s charming hometown in the heart of the historic Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. production area.

In 1964, he founded the farm that still bears his name, cultivating vineyards, raising dairy cows, following the forest and, for greater economic support for the family, raising silkworms with mulberry trees that supported the rows of vines. Vincenzo over the years passed on the experience and passion to his sons Sante, Luciano and Gabriele, who run the farm today. With them are their grandchildren, Umberto and Francesca, who studied at the renowned G.B. Cerletti School of Enology in Conegliano.

Our wine is the fruit of the dedication and care we devote to our vineyards, love for our land and passion for what we do. These are our values with which we have grown up and which are the basis of our company philosophy, which has always been in search of excellence while respecting tradition.

The winery, founded in 1964 by Vincenzo Toffoli, is located in Refrontolo (200 meters above sea level) at the foot of the Trevisan Pre-Alps, in the hills of the Alta Marca, in the heart of the D.O.C. G. Colli di Conegliano.

Today there are 20 hectares tended by the winery, and the vineyards are cultivated in a beautiful south-facing basin sheltered from drafts. Here the environmental and morphological conditions are the ideal habitat for vine cultivation.

Terroir: the soil is of glacial – alluvial origin, excellent ratio of sand to clay. This allows an adequate supply of the mineral and organic substances essential for the sustenance of the vine.

The number of vines per hectare varies from 3000 to 3400 depending on the varieties, the training systems adopted are Sylvoz and Guyot
