The Provincial Committee of Pro Loco of Treviso APS was established around 1970 to “bring together, organize and represent the Pro Loco organizations established in the province.”
The first Committee of Pro Loco Trevigiane came into being in the early 1970s and was headquartered at — with — as chairman. He was succeeded in the years — and since 1984, and currently in office, by Giovanni Follador.
The Committee is the “home” in which the large family of Pro Loco Trevisan is recognized: we have as many as 110 Pro Loco members and 10 Pro Loco Consortiums, which “group” them together at the territorial level.
We are a nonpartisan organization and part of the National Union of Pro Loco of Italy (UNPLI), of which we are a peripheral articulation at the provincial level, working in synergy with the Regional Committee, the Territorial Consortia and the Pro Loco themselves.
As of 2022, we are a recognized Association with legal personality, registered with RUNTS in the APS section.
Our task is to offer assistance, coordination and support to the Pro Loco of the province of Treviso members of UNPLI, to represent their interests and to encourage the cultural and touristic development of the territory, carrying out actions of collaboration and information towards the Pro Loco and associated Consortia, representing their interests towards the institutional Bodies and all public and private entities, which operate at provincial and sub-provincial level; we also act as a support and coordination structure in the activities of the Pro Loco, providing assistance. We also promote initiatives and events that enable the valorization and enhancement of local assets and resources.
Volunteerism, collaboration, creating value for the community, and being a “place” of human and social relations are the founding values of Pro Loco associationism, which the Provincial Pro Loco Committee of Treviso protects and promotes on a daily basis by working “for the benefit of the territory,” in collaboration and synergy with other entities and organizations.
In collaboration with other parties, for years we have been carrying out a complex territorial marketing project, which aims to promote and enhance, at the same time, the area’s eno-gastronomic excellence, exhibitions and events related to these productions, as well as tourism in the areas hosting the events. This project has resulted in four important taste festivals.
As a Committee we also directly manage, with the respective municipal administrations, the Tourist Information and Reception Offices in Castelfranco Veneto, Conegliano, Oderzo, Treviso center and Treviso airport, as well as two Tourist Info-points: the Info Point Parco del Livelet – Revine Lago and the Info Point in Cison di Valmarino.
Since February 2010 we have taken over the management of the “Livelet Archaeological Educational Park,” in collaboration with the Province of Treviso and the Quartier del Piave Consortium. Park that welcomes almost 20,000 visitors a year between schools that come to visit the park and carry out educational activities of an archaeological nature and visitors on Sundays and holidays.
From 2022 the Conegliano Castle Museum and the Civic Tower of Castelfranco Veneto will also be added to the activities managed by the Committee.
