Cansiglio liqueur

Beverages, spirits and liqueurs

Description

Cansiglio liqueur is a typical distillate from the forests of the plateau of the same name, between the provinces of Treviso, Belluno and Pordenone. Made from herbs, berries and roots gathered in the Cansiglio forests-such as gentian, mountain pine, elderberry, juniper and yarrow-this liqueur is distinguished by its balsamic aroma, intense taste and digestive properties. Preparation follows recipes handed down through generations, often jealously guarded by families and small artisanal distilleries in the area. It is consumed as a digestive at the end of a meal, at room temperature or slightly chilled, and sometimes used in cooking or baking to flavor desserts. Some variants are made with honey or local berries, which enrich its flavor profile. Cansiglio liqueur is a product that expresses the wild and deep identity of the Veneto forest, combining herbal tradition and liquor-making mastery.
